Ce pianiste de jazz finlandais a déjà publié neuf albums en trio. On l'a découvert en France en 2011 lors de la sortie de son premier enregistrement chez ACT, très bien reçu par la presse jazz et pianistique spécialisée. Après son précédent opus en solo, le pianiste continue à explorer ses racines et nous faire partager son amour immodéré de la musique, de la grande figure tutélaire J.S. Bach aux influences du baroque, du ragtime, du bebop, du swing, des ballades françaises, du tango, de la fusion, du smooth jazz... Tantôt sombre rêveur, tantôt joyeux exalté, Iiro Rantala rend un bel hommage aux musiciens et musiques qui ont compté pour lui et l'ont inspiré.
